Elissa Daniel,LPC

About me:

Hi, I’m Elissa. If you’re here, you might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns that keep repeating, or struggling in your relationships and not sure how to move forward. I work with individuals and couples who want to better understand themselves, feel more in control, and create meaningful, lasting change.

What is my background?
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with Bachelor’s degrees in Kinesiology and Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. I’ve spent the past 6 years working as a therapist and clinical supervisor, in addition to nearly 10 years as a certified personal trainer. This background shaped my passion for the mind-body connection and allows me to take a holistic, evidence-informed approach that helps clients better understand themselves, improve relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change.

What is my approach to therapy?
I use an individualized, evidence-based approach tailored to each client. My work integrates CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, family systems therapy, and trauma-informed care.

Who do I work with?
I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and trauma (including dissociation and complex trauma). I also support individuals during pregnancy and postpartum.

Do I have any specialties?
Yes!  take my growth as a clinician very seriously. In addition to my work with clients, I serve as a clinical supervisor, training and mentoring interns who are working toward full licensure. I regularly invest in advanced trainings, with a strong focus on trauma-informed approaches and strength-based therapy. My specialty trainings include: trauma-informed care, dissociative experiences, perinatal mental health, and certified training in L1 + L2 Gottman method couples therapy.

What can you expect from working with me?
I provide a safe, confidential space where you can better understand your emotional and relational patterns, strengthen communication, and build practical skills to feel more confident, grounded, and in control of your life.

How are sessions offered?
All sessions are provided through secure virtual telehealth in WI.
